Steel-wood, security, aluminium and uPVC doors and windows are bulky. They ship finished or as profiles plus fittings, at noticeably different freight costs.

Short answer

Updated: August 2026

How do I ship doors and windows from China to Nigeria?

Doors and windows go by sea in a full 40HQ, door to door with clearance and duties included. Finished doors are planned by number of sets; for large volumes you can also ship profiles for local fabrication.

  • Load security doors and steel-wood doors upright and braced; packing door leaves and frames separately saves space.
  • The material decides the HS code; declare steel, aluminium, uPVC and wooden doors separately.
  • Doors and windows with glass need corner protectors and dividers.

  • Door-to-door shipping to Nigeria

Shipping, customs, duties and delivery in Nigeria, in one price.

  • Nigeria import documents

Nigeria requires products on its mandatory lists to be certified before export, and the certificate must be presented at clearance. We check this before booking, so the risk does not surface when the cargo reaches port.

Common risks

Where this cargo most often gets held up. We check each point before it ships.

  1. Item 01

    Scratched door surfaces

Without dividers and protective film between door leaves, rubbing at sea scratches the surface and they are hard to sell on arrival.

  2. Item 02

    Broken glass

When doors and windows with glass are loaded upright without bracing, the glass is the first thing to break during handling.

  3. Item 03

Declaring doors and windows as profiles

Profiles are raw material and doors and windows are finished goods. Their HS classification and duty rates differ, and the declaration must match the actual goods.

  4. Item 04

    Shipping with glass fitted

Doors and windows with glass fitted are the most likely to break at sea. We recommend packing large glass panes separately from the frames, or securing them in a wooden frame.

Shipping doors and windows to Nigeria: FAQ

Which is better value: finished doors and windows, or profiles?

Profiles plus fittings take up much less space and cost noticeably less freight, but need local fabrication capacity. Finished doors and windows can be installed as soon as they arrive. We can quote both options.

Do security doors to Nigeria need SONCAP?

It depends on the HS code. We check before booking, and if it's needed we can handle it for you.

If doors and windows include glass, do I declare them separately?

Declare them in the form they ship in. Finished doors and windows with glass fitted are declared as finished doors and windows; glass packed separately is listed as its own item.

Not sure which documents you need? See the clearance document checklist or send us your product names.
