What is door-to-door sea freight from China to Africa, and should I choose a full or a shared container?
Door-to-door sea freight cleared at both ends means one forwarder handles export clearance in China and import clearance in the destination country. Duties, destination port charges and local delivery are in one quote, and the goods go straight to the receiver's address. From about one 20ft container (around 28 m³) upwards, a full container (FCL) costs less and you don't wait for other cargo. Under half a container, a shared container (LCL) is cheaper, but allow extra time for consolidation and unpacking at the destination port.

Send your cargo details; we check the product and certification
Quote within 30 minutes
We need the product name, HS code or use, quantity, gross weight and volume, origin and destination city. We first check whether the product is on Nigeria's mandatory certification list or under special cargo rules, so missing documents don't surface after arrival.
2
Door-to-door price and container advice
Based on volume and weight we recommend a full or shared container. The quote itemises what is and isn't included, with its validity and peak-season adjustment terms.
3
Warehouse receipt, count and palletising
Our five warehouses in Qingdao, Lianyungang, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Yiwu receive goods in parallel: we count, photograph, weigh and measure, and reinforce or palletise as needed. Goods from several suppliers are loaded together once everything has arrived.
4
Booking, loading and export declaration
Once the sailing is confirmed we book space and arrange trucking, loading and export clearance. After departure you get a copy of the bill of lading and the estimated arrival date.
5
Clearance and duties at the destination port
Our own team in Lagos clears the goods, pays duty and VAT and gets the release. You receive an update at every clearance step, with no need to chase a clearing agent yourself.
6
Local delivery and sign-off
After release, local trucks deliver to the receiver's address and the signed proof of delivery is sent back and filed.

One price to my door, no trips to the port
Mr. OkaforWholesale business owner
“Before, when goods reached the port I had to find an agent and run the clearance myself, and the costs were never clear. Now one price covers everything and the goods arrive at my warehouse door. I just focus on selling.”
Local buyerApparel and footwear wholesaler, Aba
Shared-container shipping to my shop, no need to fill a full container
Mr. EmekaWholesaler
“Before, it didn't pay unless I filled a whole container, and once goods reached Lagos I had to find someone to forward them. Now I ship by LCL straight to my shop in Aba and order at the pace I sell.”
Local wholesalerHardware wholesaler, Oshodi, Lagos
Goods from several suppliers, consolidated into one shipment to Lagos
Mr. IbrahimHardware wholesaler
“What I care about most is whether each supplier's goods have arrived. Every batch comes with photos and a carton count. The hinge batch was 30 cartons short — it was caught and made up before shipping, not discovered after arriving in Lagos.”

Door-to-door sea freight: FAQ
01How much slower is a shared container than a full one?
A shared container waits until the other cargo in it is ready before loading, and after arrival it is unpacked and split up, so it usually takes 5 to 10 days longer than a full container. If time matters and you have close to half a container, a full container is the better choice.
02How are heavy and bulky goods charged?
Shared containers are charged on volume or weight, whichever is greater: 1 m³ usually corresponds to 1,000 kg, and above that weight applies. Full containers are charged per container, but road weight limits in the destination country apply, and overweight boxes cause extra handling costs or fines.
03How long is a quote valid?
Ocean freight moves with shipping line rates, so quotes usually state a validity period and adjustment terms. Peak season, fuel surcharge changes or shipping line increases affect the price; the price confirmed at booking applies.
04Can goods from several suppliers share one container? Do you buy and pay in RMB?
Yes. Each supplier delivers to our nearest warehouse in Qingdao, Lianyungang, Shenzhen, Guangzhou or Yiwu, and we consolidate everything into one shipment. If you have not ordered yet, send us the product links or supplier contacts and we can buy for you and pay the supplier in RMB.
