What can a consolidation warehouse do for me, and how long is storage free?
A consolidation warehouse brings goods from several suppliers that arrive at different times into one place, where they are counted, photographed, weighed, measured, reinforced and palletised, then loaded in one go. That cuts freight and handling, and lets packaging or quantity problems show up before loading. The free storage period is agreed by service type; after that, storage is charged per day, as stated in the quote.
Company profile
Best Africa Logistics
Freight forwarder from China to Africa: sea and air freight door to door with duties included, product certificates for your country, and five warehouses in China to combine and store goods.
We assign the warehouse closest to each supplier and give the address, receiving contact and shipping mark format. Suppliers ship with those marks so goods are grouped correctly on arrival.
2
Receipt and count
Handled the day of arrival or the next day
We check marks and carton count and look for damaged, damp or crushed packaging, with photos sent back. Any quantity mismatch is reported to you straight away.
3
Weighing and measuring
Actual gross weight and volume are recorded and used to calculate freight and choose the container.
4
Reinforcing and palletising as needed
For weak cartons or long sea journeys we recommend shrink-wrapping and palletising. Pallets and packaging materials are charged at cost.
5
Consolidate and ship
Once all suppliers' goods have arrived, they are loaded into a container or sent to the airport, with a final packing list before departure.
Customer stories

Oversized equipment delivered to site in one shipment
Chief AdeProject manager
“Equipment dimensions, clearance and lifting were all arranged in advance. It could be unloaded the moment it reached site — no running to the port ourselves to chase contacts and wait for release.”
Local buyerApparel and footwear wholesaler, Aba
Shared-container shipping to my shop, no need to fill a full container
Mr. EmekaWholesaler
“Before, it didn't pay unless I filled a whole container, and once goods reached Lagos I had to find someone to forward them. Now I ship by LCL straight to my shop in Aba and order at the pace I sell.”
Local wholesalerHardware wholesaler, Oshodi, Lagos
Goods from several suppliers, consolidated into one shipment to Lagos
Mr. IbrahimHardware wholesaler
“What I care about most is whether each supplier's goods have arrived. Every batch comes with photos and a carton count. The hinge batch was 30 cartons short — it was caught and made up before shipping, not discovered after arriving in Lagos.”

Warehousing and Consolidation: FAQ
01How long is free storage, and what does it cost after that?
The free storage period is agreed by service type and volume, with the start date and number of days written in the quote. After that, storage is charged per pallet or per m³ per day, at a rate also stated in the quote. We remind you before the free period ends so there are no surprise charges.
02Can you inspect my goods?
Standard warehouse handling covers outer packaging checks, carton counts and photos: a check of appearance and quantity. Opening cartons for quality inspection, function testing and formal inspection reports is specialist work for third-party inspection bodies. We can introduce one, but as a forwarder we don't issue quality findings.
03What if goods are lost or damaged in the warehouse?
Responsibility and compensation during storage are written into the service agreement and handled under it. For high-value goods we recommend warehouse or cargo insurance; see the Service guarantee and claims page for details.
