How do I ship pre-painted steel coils from China to Nigeria?
Pre-painted steel coil goes by sea in a full 20 ft container, door to door with clearance and duties included. It is loaded by coil weight, fixed on coil cradles, and wrapped in moisture-proof film with corner protectors.
- A 20 ft container usually reaches its limit of about 21 tonnes first, so it is loaded by coil weight and number of coils.
- Coil orientation (eye to sky or eye to side) decides how it is secured; tell us when you ask for a quote.
- Write the paint colour and substrate thickness into the product name to help classification and valuation.

Nigeria requires products on its mandatory lists to be certified before export, and the certificate must be presented at clearance. We check this before booking, so the risk does not surface when the cargo reaches port.

- Item 01
Coils knocking together and scratching the paint
Without dividers and lashing between coils, collisions at sea scratch the coating and the surface is unusable on arrival.
- Item 02
Damp and rust on the edges
If the packing isn't sealed properly, condensation in the container seeps in from the coil edges, causing edge rust and blistering.
- Item 03
Coils not secured
Coils that roll in rough seas damage the container walls and other cargo. They must be fixed in the container with steel cradles or wooden wedges.
- Item 04
Packing not damp-proof
Once the coated edges get damp they blister and rust, and the goods can't be sold at full price on arrival. Use waterproof outer packing with moisture-proof paper inside.

Yes, the same goods, also called PPGI in the trade. Declare it as pre-painted steel coil and state the substrate and coating.
Can pre-painted steel coil be roll-formed into roofing sheets in Nigeria?
Yes, many customers roll-form locally. We only handle transport and clearance, and deliver to the address you give us after arrival.
