Import requirements in Algeria
Rules change. We check each product by name and HS code before shipping.
- Item 01
Bank domiciliation
Each import must be registered with an authorised Algerian bank before the supplier ships, and the bank checks that the bill of lading or air waybill is dated after the registration. Cargo with the dates the wrong way round cannot be paid for and clearance suffers, so get the importer's registration confirmation before sailing.
- Item 02
Forecast import programme (PPI)
The importer must submit a forecast import programme (PPI) and obtain its visa, which is valid for 90 days. These rules have changed often in recent years, so ask the importer to confirm current requirements before placing the order.
- Item 03
Importer requirements
The importer must hold a trade registration that includes import activity; importers who resell goods in the same state must also meet financial conditions set by the authorities.
