Shipping aluminium profiles to Nigeria

Aluminium profiles are light and long; 6 m lengths need a 40 ft container. Coated surfaces scratch easily, so each length is filmed or paper-wrapped.

Short answer

Updated: August 2026

How do I ship aluminium profiles from China to Nigeria?

Aluminium profiles go by sea in a full 40 ft container, door to door with clearance and duties included. Choose the container by length and load by volume, with each bundle packed to prevent bending and scratches.

  • 6 m profiles won't fit in a 20 ft container; they need a 40 ft container.
  • Write the surface finish (powder coating, anodising, electrophoresis, wood grain) into the product name.
  • Window systems can ship profiles, glazing gaskets and hardware fittings in the same container.

  • Door-to-door shipping to Nigeria

Shipping, customs, duties and delivery in Nigeria, in one price.

  • Nigeria import documents

Nigeria requires products on its mandatory lists to be certified before export, and the certificate must be presented at clearance. We check this before booking, so the risk does not surface when the cargo reaches port.

Common risks

Where this cargo most often gets held up. We check each point before it ships.

  1. Item 01

    Bent profiles

Aluminium profiles are fairly soft and bend if strapped too tight or overloaded from above. Pack each bundle in a wooden frame or carton.

  2. Item 02

    Scuffed surfaces

Bundled straight without protective film, profiles rub against each other and scuff the surface.

  3. Item 03

    Shipping with glass fitted

Doors and windows with glass fitted are the most likely to break at sea. We recommend packing large glass panes separately from the frames, or securing them in a wooden frame.

  4. Item 04

    No protective film

Scratched coating or anodising is very hard to repair. Profiles should get protective film before leaving the factory, with layers kept apart.

Shipping aluminium profiles to Nigeria: FAQ

Are aluminium profiles declared the same way as pre-painted aluminium coil?

No. Aluminium profiles are classified under 7604 and aluminium coil under 7606; the product names and HS codes must be kept separate.

How many tonnes of aluminium profiles fit in a 40 ft container?

Aluminium profiles usually fill the volume before the weight, depending on cross-section and packing. Send us your profile list and we give you a loading plan.

Can 6 m aluminium profiles go in a shared container?

Yes, but make sure it's a shared 40 ft container. Long lengths in a shared container need a specific loading order, so tell us the length when you ask for a quote.

Not sure which documents you need? See the clearance document checklist or send us your product names.
