What exactly is Nigeria DDP, and how is it different from a regular forwarder?
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) means the seller covers all costs and risks of getting the goods to the buyer's chosen address, including import clearance and duties. Our Nigeria DDP service is cleared directly by our own team in Lagos, not passed down to local agents. Form M, PAAR, duties and local delivery are all in the quote; you only need to provide accurate cargo information.

Sea times run from our pickup to the receiver's signature and include export clearance, ocean freight and destination clearance. Peak season, rolled containers and port congestion add time; the sailing confirmed at booking applies. The clearance port is confirmed before booking. Rainy-season roads and security conditions can affect inland delivery.
By HS code and use, we check whether the product is on the SONCAP mandatory list, needs NAFDAC registration, or is on Nigeria's import prohibition list. This is done before booking, so the goods don't get stuck on arrival.
2
Door-to-door price and service agreement
The quote is itemised, and the agreement sets out responsibilities, compensation terms and how exceptions are handled, including inspection, delays and damage.
3
Warehouse consolidation, checks and palletising
Our five warehouses in Qingdao, Lianyungang, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Yiwu receive goods in parallel: we count, photograph, measure, and reinforce or palletise as needed. Goods from several suppliers can be loaded together once all have arrived.
4
Export declaration, booking and sailing
Export clearance and booking are completed. After sailing you get the bill of lading and estimated arrival, and destination paperwork starts at the same time.
5
Clearance and duties by our Lagos team
When the goods arrive, our own team takes over: PAAR, duty, VAT and port charges, and follows inspection through to release. You receive an update at every step.
6
Local delivery to the receiver's door
After release, local trucks deliver. Within Lagos it usually takes 1 to 3 days; goods for the north and south-east can clear in Kano or Port Harcourt and be delivered from there. Proof of delivery is sent back.
Customer stories
Local buyerBuilding materials wholesaler, Lagos
One price to my door, no trips to the port
Mr. OkaforWholesale business owner
“Before, when goods reached the port I had to find an agent and run the clearance myself, and the costs were never clear. Now one price covers everything and the goods arrive at my warehouse door. I just focus on selling.”
Local wholesalerHardware wholesaler, Oshodi, Lagos
Goods from several suppliers, consolidated into one shipment to Lagos
Mr. IbrahimHardware wholesaler
“What I care about most is whether each supplier's goods have arrived. Every batch comes with photos and a carton count. The hinge batch was 30 cartons short — it was caught and made up before shipping, not discovered after arriving in Lagos.”
First import from China, with the cost to Abuja worked out up front
Mr. MusaOffice supplies retailer
“This was my first time buying from China. They listed what was included and what might be charged separately before we started — even the Lagos-to-Abuja leg was written into the quote.”

Door-to-door shipping to Nigeria: FAQ
01What are Form M and PAAR, and do I need to prepare them?
Form M is the import declaration a Nigerian importer must apply for at an authorised bank before the goods ship. PAAR (Pre-Arrival Assessment Report) is the report Customs issues from it before arrival, and it is required for import clearance. Both are done by the importer in Nigeria; our team helps the receiver complete them, and the seller only needs to provide an accurate invoice, packing list and product information.
02What happens if customs inspects my goods at Lagos port?
Inspection is a routine customs right: selected goods are opened to check the description, quantity and declared value. When the documents match, release usually follows within a few working days. Handling, scanning and opening costs from inspection are included in the all-in price. If the declaration doesn't match the goods, you face extra duty, fines or even confiscation, which is why we insist on checking the product description before booking.
03Which goods can't be imported into Nigeria?
Nigeria Customs publishes an import prohibition list covering some used goods, certain agricultural products and some finished medicines, and the list changes. We only accept goods with complete documents. Check the Nigeria Customs website for the list, or send us the product name to check.
04How is duty calculated, and can the duties-included price change?
Nigerian import duty uses the rate for the HS code, charged on the CIF value, plus VAT and some levies. The duties-included quote is estimated from the product name and value you provide and then locked; under normal operation it doesn't rise midway. But if the actual goods don't match the declaration, or the products or quantity change midway, the price has to be recalculated.
