What should I watch out for when shipping generators from China to Nigeria?

Drain the fuel and engine oil, choose the container type by unit size, and check SONCAP before shipping.

A generator with fuel in it counts as dangerous goods. Drain it before shipping and provide an oil-free certificate.
Small petrol units are loaded in cartons; large diesel sets go in a standard, open-top or flat-rack container depending on each unit's size and weight.

Leftover fuel makes the whole container count as dangerous goods, and it may be refused for loading. Drain it before it leaves the factory and issue an oil-free certificate.

Sets with a starter battery must declare the battery details; lead-acid batteries are handled under the rules.
Item 03
Large sets not secured
A set weighing several tonnes that shifts in the container can punch through the wall. Put timber under it and lash it according to its centre of gravity.
