Short answer

Updated: August 2026

How do I ship kitchenware from China to Nigeria?

Kitchenware ships by sea in a shared or full container, door to door with clearance and duties included. Several suppliers deliver to our warehouse, and each item is declared by material and type.

  • Stainless steel, aluminium, cast iron and non-stick cookware have different HS codes, so declare by material.
  • Cookware sets are declared per set, which makes checking easier.
  • Products that touch food should state their use.

Risk alert

Common risks

Where this cargo most often gets held up. We check each point before it ships.

  1. Item 01

    Materials lumped together

Different materials have different HS codes. A line like “one lot of kitchenware” will have to be split.

  2. Item 02

    Counting sets inconsistently

If quantities are counted per set in one place, per piece or per carton in another, the numbers won't match at inspection.

  3. Item 03

    No separators between enamel pieces

Stacked enamel basins knock together on the way, and chipped enamel is hard to sell.

  4. Item 04

    Materials lumped together

One product name, “kitchenware”, cannot cover stainless steel, aluminium and enamel. They are classified differently and pay different duty rates.

Shipping kitchenware to Nigeria: FAQ

Does kitchenware need NAFDAC to enter Nigeria?

For products that touch food it depends on the product name and HS code. We check and tell you before booking.

Can kitchenware share a container with enamelware?

Yes, as long as they are declared under separate product names.

Can kitchenware go in a shared container?

Yes. Kitchenware is a common shared-container cargo, from 1 m³.

Can cookware from different factories ship together?

Yes. Have it delivered to the same warehouse; we count it all on arrival before loading.

Not sure which documents you need? See the clearance document checklist or send us your product names.
