What it means for logistics
- Exports are growing much faster than imports: heavy outbound volume and relatively little return cargo, so outbound space gets tighter in peak season.
- Volume growth is concentrated in the main ports, adding to congestion pressure at ports such as Lagos.
- More small and medium-sized trades: demand for LCL and multi-category consolidation is rising.
- Compliance is tightening: countries are strengthening pre-shipment inspection and electronic clearance.
