Short answer

Updated: August 2026

How do I ship CCTV and security cameras from China to Nigeria?

CCTV and security equipment ships by air or sea, door to door with clearance and duties included. We check SONCAP before booking; equipment with batteries needs battery documents.

  • Cameras, recorders, access control and alarms have different HS codes.
  • Solar cameras have built-in batteries and are declared as battery goods.
  • Project cargo can send part by air first and the rest by sea.

  • Nigeria import documents

Nigeria requires products on its mandatory lists to be certified before export, and the certificate must be presented at clearance. We check this before booking, so the risk does not surface when the cargo reaches port.

Common risks

Where this cargo most often gets held up. We check each point before it ships.

  1. Item 01

    Declared under one product name

Security project cargo declared as “one lot of surveillance equipment” will have to be broken down line by line at inspection.

  2. Item 02

Hard drives packed apart from recorders

When recorders and hard drives are boxed separately, list each one.

  3. Item 03

A whole system declared as one item

“One CCTV system” does not match any HS code. Cameras, recorders, hard drives and cabling must be listed separately.

  4. Item 04

Separately packed hard drives left off

When hard drives are packed apart from the recorders, list them separately.

  2. Sign the service agreement

We agree price, delivery time, responsibilities and compensation, then sign. Any certificates start here.

Shipping CCTV and security cameras to Nigeria: FAQ

Does CCTV equipment need SONCAP?

It depends on the HS code. We check before booking and can arrange it if needed.

What if a security project is urgent?

The urgent part goes by air, 7 - 12 days to your door, and the rest by sea. We can split it for you.

Can security equipment go by air?

Yes. Ordinary equipment flies as general cargo; products with lithium batteries need UN38.3 and MSDS.

Not sure which documents you need? See the clearance document checklist or send us your product names.
